Fortunately, I have never lost a close family member or friend to AIDS. I ride because I don't want anyone else to either. I have only known of a time where AIDS existed. I ride so that one day we can live in a world where it is no longer does. I ride to raise the awareness among my family, friends, colleagues and anyone else I meet so that they know there is still no vaccine or cure for AIDS. I ride so that those affected by AIDS in my community have the best access to the care and support they need. I ride so that one day our victory ride will not only be the last mile down 7th Avenue, but will be whenever we ride knowing that we helped conquer HIV!
